Senior Leadership

Melinda Hill has been providing senior leadership to our city and state for many years. Electing Melinda will ensure the City is in good hands going forward.

During her 2011-2016 tenure on the Commission, Hill was a Bowling Green City Commissioner and two-time Mayor Pro Tem who, in addition to her responsibility for oversight of city management for this 67,000 person city, worked diligently for the citizens to:

  • Make public policy and strategic direction for the City
  • Ensure taxes were not raised
  • Keep the City’s “rainy day fund” fully funded
  • Lead the Board of Commissioner’s in the Mayor’s absence
  • Review and approve the City budget

During this time, Melinda also served the community on these boards:

  • Sloan Convention Center Board Chairperson (2013-2016)
  • ITA Board of Directors (2013-2016)
  • Job Development Incentive Program (JDIP) Chairperson (2013-2016)

In addition to her city government leadership, Melinda is proud to have served the Commonwealth of Kentucky – initially as the Deputy Commissioner in the Department of Revenue, and later as the Chief of Staff for the Finance and Administration Cabinet.

As Chief of Staff, Melinda was responsible for oversight of over 1,500 employees in ten departments. She had the honor of representing the Finance and Administration Cabinet on a number of influential state committees:

  • KY Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA)
  • KY Housing Authority (KRA)
  • State Investment Commission (SIC)
  • KY River Authority (KRA)
  • KY State Property and Buildings Commission (KSPBC)
  • KY Asset/Liability Commission (ALCo)
  • KY Commission on Military Affairs (KCMA)
